Talent

Tom Haws

Thomas Gail Haws graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1991. He has been a registered civil engineer in the State of Arizona since 1996 with a special focus on flood control. He was born in Mesa, and he has practiced mostly in central Arizona starting with subdivision drainage reports and water system mapping and through the decades including paving; grading and drainage including watershed studies (HEC-1, SWMM, and DDMSW), erosion protection, and scour calculations; water plans and models (EPANET); sewer line plans and models, treatment plant elements, and lift station plans and models; flood irrigation plans and models; and floodplain revisions and certificates (HEC-RAS 1D and 2D) for large and small subdivisions, single homes, roads, utilities, and commercial, government, utility, and mining sites. He is also a programmer (including for AutoCAD and the LAMP/JS web stack), blogger, and vocal musician/arranger/composer.

Juan Reyes

Juan Reyes is a registered civil engineer in the State of Arizona and the State of Missouri with 14 years of experience. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 2006. He has practiced civil engineering from the west coast to the midwest, including in the states of Arizona, California, New Mexico, Missouri, Tennesse and Kentucky. He is civil engineering with a broad background, in the office and on the construction site. Experience includes Water, Wastewater and Stormwater systems design and construction administration. An Engineer with a profound understanding of the collaborative teamwork required to successfully deliver successful projects.

George S. Maalouf

George Salim Maalouf graduated from the university of Balamand with a Master of Science in civil engineering in 2000. Also, he took advanced civil engineering courses at the universities of Drexel and Temple in Philadelphia. He has been a registered civil engineer in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware since 2005. He has been in the design/build sector for over 17 years with a good hand on value engineering. Also, he has over 23 years of diversified experience mostly in land development, drainage, concrete structural analysis and surveying. He has experience in the three main fields of land development: Residential, Commercial, and Industrial (energy and food industries). He is proficient in using Excel, Word, AutoCAD and engineering software including the following: Civil 3D, HydroCAD, PondPack, CulvertMaster, Sewercad and Sewergem, WaterCad and Watergem, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-1, and Robot structural software. He is licensed as a “Master Modeler” by Haestad Methods. He worked on local projects (PA), national projects (several states: AZ, NJ, DE, SC, TX…) and international projects in Africa (Angola), Asia (South Korea) and the middle east (Saudi Arabia).

Emile Zankoul

Emile Zankoul is a registered civil engineer in Lebanon since 2013. He graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2013 and 2015 respectively from the American University of Beirut. He has 9 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on grading and drainage, hydrology, water networks, site plans, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project/construction management. In addition to his professional experience, Emile has extensive academic research and teaching experience with over a dozen papers and over hundreds of citations in the field of engineering and construction management.

Emile is also a holder of several certifications including LEED AP ND and PMP. He is also highly proficient in a multitude of software including Civil 3D, EPANET, Hydraflow, SSA, WaterCAD, StormCAD, SewerCAD, HEC-HMS, Revit, Navisworks, Primavera P6 and AnyLogic.

Emile has been a member of NPS Agua Fria since September 2020. He is passionate about continuous learning and improvement. His hobbies include basketball and watching movies.

Ashwin Shrestha

Ashwin Kumar Shrestha is an engineer-in-training in Nepal. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 2015. He completed his final year project in structural design before graduating. He worked for two private hydropower firms for the next three years as a site supervisor as well as design engineer where he harnessed his skills on quality control in sites and design and drafting of hydropower components. Since 2017 he started working on grading and drainage design projects for a private company in Kathmandu where he developed his skills with Autocad and Civil 3D. Recently, he has started taking basic online courses in Javascript, HTML and Python. During spare time, he loves to travel with friends and family, watching movies and series, preparation of sketch drawings and playing video games.

Lande 'Lando' Edmiston

Lande ‘Lando’ Edmiston is a registered Professional Technologist in the province of Alberta, Canada. He has over 20 years of experience in civil earthworks projects including but not limited to heavy industrial oil and gas sites, earthen dams, commercial developments, master planned communities, golf courses and small rural subdivisions. He has experience with projects all over the world including Canada, Alaska, Tennessee, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Alabama, the Middle East, Nigeria, and Australia. In addition to his professional experience, Lando has extensive experience with managing large and small groups of professionals as well as project management experience on various sized projects.

He enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as coaching youth sports in his spare time.

Kiran Shrestha

Kiran Shrestha is an engineer-in-training in Nepal. He received a Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering at Purbanchal University, Nepal in 2016 and working on a Master's in Transportation Engineering and Management from Pokhara University. He worked for two years in a civil engineering company where he designed water supply systems and sewers for wastewater and stormwater. He was competent in calculating bills of quantities, hydrological analysis, and design of water networks. In 2018 he started to work as a designer for Land development projects where he drafted Civil 3D grading and drainage, plan and profiles and report preparation of a designed infrastructure. He has been an NPS colleague since 2020.

He is proficient at using Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Revit, ArcGIS, Etabs, HY-8. Apart from his engineering experience, he loves to watch movies, football and travel with friends and family.
